Let’s get one thing straight:
Self-care is not selfish.
It’s sacred.
As a Kingdom citizen, navigating life, leadership, and everything in between, you’ve probably been told to “be strong,” “push through,” or “pray harder.” But what about rest? What about boundaries? What about your peace?
At Saved Girl, we believe caring for your mind, body, and spirit is not just a luxury—it’s a covenant. An intentional, holy agreement to care for what God gave you: you.
What Is the Self-Care Covenant?
A covenant is deeper than a promise—it’s binding. It’s sacred. It says, “I won’t abandon myself when things get hard.”
A Self-Care Covenant means:
-
I will protect my peace.
-
I will rest without guilt.
-
I will say no without shame.
-
I will nourish my spirit, not just my schedule.
It’s not bubble baths and brunch (though we love both). It’s choosing you—on purpose, with purpose.
Why Peace Must Be a Priority
Here’s what we know:
🧠 Mental burnout is real.
💔 Emotional trauma doesn’t heal in chaos.
💨 Hustle culture will have you running on empty while clapping for others.
But Philippians 4:7 reminds us: “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
God cares about your peace. And peace doesn’t just happen—it must be protected.
5 Ways to Honor Your Self-Care Covenant
1. Set Boundaries—And Stick to Them
Boundaries are not walls. They are bridges to better relationships with others and yourself.
Say it out loud: “No” is a complete sentence.
Boundaries protect your peace, energy, and mental clarity. Start small. One clear boundary can change your entire week.
2. Guard Your Intake
What you consume impacts how you feel. Social media, conversations, even music—everything you let in either feeds your spirit or drains it.
Be selective. Be intentional. If it doesn’t serve your healing or joy, you don’t need it.
3. Schedule Time With You
If you’re constantly pouring into others but never into yourself, you’ll end up dry.
Put it on the calendar: “Me Time.” Whether it’s journaling, walking, praying, or just sitting in silence—make time for you.
Saved Girl Affirmation: “My presence matters. To others, and to me.”
4. Ask for Help
Superwoman isn’t real. God didn’t create you to carry it all alone.
Let therapy be part of your healing. Lean into sisterhood. Let people pray for you, hold space for you, and show up for you the way you show up for everyone else.
5. Honor Your Body
Your body is a temple. It deserves to be nourished, loved, and respected. Rest when you’re tired. Eat when you’re hungry. Move when you feel stuck.
Peace lives in a body that feels safe. Start making yours one.
When You Choose Peace, You Choose Power
You can’t pour from an empty cup. You can’t fight spiritual battles without rest. And you can’t be all that God called you to be if you keep sacrificing your well-being to keep others comfortable.
The Self-Care Covenant is your reminder:
God didn’t just call you to survive. He called you to thrive.
